Brixton Motorcycles recently unveiled four new neo-retro motorcycles in the Indian market, spanning the 500cc and 1200cc segments. However, the highly anticipated Storr 500 adventure tourer was notably absent from the launch event.
While the official launch date hasn’t been announced, our sources indicate that the Storr 500 is set to arrive in India very soon, likely in the first half of 2025. The delay in the Indian launch could be attributed to the fact that Brixton is yet to introduce the bike in its primary market, Europe. The production-ready version of the Storr 500 made its global debut at EICMA 2024.
The Storr 500 boasts a unique design language, drawing inspiration from models like the Husqvarna Norden 900 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Key design elements include a prominent fuel tank and a large fairing that seamlessly integrates with the headlamp assembly.
Powering the Storr 500 is a 486cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 47 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 6,700 rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is built on a tubular steel frame and features inverted front forks and a linked rear monoshock. It rolls on 19/17-inch tubeless spoke wheels wrapped in knobby Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.
Our recent experience with the Brixton Crossfire 500XC suggests that the Storr 500’s engine could offer a smooth and punchy performance with good tractability. This makes it a promising contender in the middleweight adventure touring segment.
The Brixton Storr 500 is expected to rival the Benelli TRK 502 and could also pose an interesting alternative to the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure R. The estimated price for the Storr 500 in India is around Rs. 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
