Ferrari’s highly anticipated first electric vehicle is set to be unveiled on October 9, 2025, during the company’s Capital Markets Day. CEO Benedetto Vigna made the announcement while discussing Ferrari’s 2024 financial performance, though he remained tight-lipped on specific details about the EV itself. This electric model is just one of six new releases planned by Ferrari for the year.
Information about the electric vehicle remains scarce. A camouflaged prototype, disguised as a Maserati Levante SUV, was spotted last year during testing in Maranello. The actual design and features of the EV are still unknown. Ferrari has confirmed that the EV has undergone extensive testing, covering thousands of kilometers. Vigna has hinted that it will be a true Ferrari, designed to be fun to drive.
Production of the EV will take place in a newly constructed “E-building” at Ferrari’s Maranello facility. This versatile building will also be used to produce combustion and hybrid models, including the Purosangue, before the EV joins the production line in 2026. Eventually, Ferrari plans to manufacture high-voltage batteries, electric motors, and axles in-house at this facility.
Beyond the EV, Ferrari has a packed schedule with five other new models or special editions planned for release in 2025. Following the discontinuation of the Portofino M, SF90 Stradale, 812 Superfast, and Roma in 2024, the company is expected to introduce successors to the Roma and SF90. Deliveries of the F80 hypercar are also slated to begin in the third quarter of the year.
Ferrari’s 2024 financial results revealed that hybrid models, specifically the 296 and SF90, made up 51% of their total shipments. Overall, Ferrari shipped 13,752 vehicles globally in 2024, representing a 12% increase in revenue.
