BYD India showcased its Sealion 7 electric SUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, announcing that pricing details will be released on February 17th. Interested customers can already reserve their Sealion 7 with a refundable deposit of Rs. 70,000. The SUV will be available in two trims: Premium and Performance, becoming BYD’s fourth passenger EV offering in the Indian market.
The Sealion 7 will be offered in four exterior colors: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey. The SUV features a fastback design, characterized by a low-slung hood, flowing lines, and a distinctive front fascia with sharp lighting elements, incorporating ocean-inspired design cues. While international versions offer various battery options, the Indian model’s specifications have been revealed.
Powering the Sealion 7 is an 82.56 kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of up to 567 km on a single charge. The Performance variant boasts an impressive 523 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of just 4.5 seconds.

The Sealion 7 incorporates several advanced technologies, including Intelligent Torque Active Control (iTAC) and BYD’s innovative Cell To Body (CTB) architecture. It also features the world’s first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain, integrating key components like the VCU, BMS, MCU, PDU, DC-DC controller, onboard charger, drive motor, and transmission into a single, efficient unit.
The Sealion 7’s features include a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, a panoramic glass roof, a suite of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, and 11 airbags.

BYD highlights the iTAC system, which they claim is superior to traditional traction control systems. iTAC dynamically manages torque distribution through torque shift, precise torque reduction, and negative torque output. This enhances safety by mitigating or preventing skidding, while also improving handling, comfort, and stability.
