Mahindra’s electric SUV venture is off to a promising start. Just two months after announcing prices, the company has already delivered 1,837 units of its new XEV 9e and BE.6 electric SUVs. Production is also ramping up, with 2,281 units already rolled off the assembly line. Mahindra plans to further increase production in the coming months to meet demand.
The Indian automaker employed a strategic pricing approach, first revealing the cost of the higher-end trims before announcing the more affordable options. Official bookings open on February 14th, with deliveries commencing in March and continuing through August, depending on the chosen variant.

These two models, unveiled on November 26, 2024, represent Mahindra’s initial foray into the “Born Electric” vehicle segment. They are the first of a planned series of electric vehicles from Mahindra, which is expected to include electric versions of popular models like the Thar, Bolero, and Scorpio.

The BE.6 starts at ₹18.90 lakh, while both the BE.6 and XEV 9e are priced at ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models offer the option of either a 59kWh or a 79kWh battery pack, with Mahindra claiming a maximum range of up to 550km on a single charge. Interested customers can place their orders starting February 14th.
