Maruti Suzuki Celerio Prices Increased After Six Airbag Addition

Maruti Suzuki Celerio

Maruti Suzuki has updated its entry-level hatchback, the Celerio, for the Indian market, adding a significant safety feature: six airbags as standard across all trims. This upgrade, however, comes with a price increase, with the base LXi variant seeing the largest jump of Rs. 27,500.

Previously, the Celerio offered dual front airbags as standard. The addition of four more airbags significantly enhances the car’s safety profile. It’s anticipated that Maruti Suzuki will extend this six-airbag feature to more of its affordable, mass-market models in the near future.

Currently, the Grand Vitara, the recently launched Dzire, and the Jimny already come standard with six airbags. The 2025 Maruti Suzuki Celerio’s price now ranges from Rs. 5.64 lakh for the base model to Rs. 7.37 lakh for the top-tier version (ex-showroom). The VXi MT’s price has increased by Rs. 16,000.

The VXi AMT variant now costs Rs. 6.49 lakh after a Rs. 21,000 increase. The VXi CNG MT’s price has also risen by Rs. 16,000, now costing Rs. 6.89 lakh. Both the ZXi MT and ZXi+ MT variants have seen a Rs. 27,500 price hike, bringing them to Rs. 6.39 lakh and Rs. 6.87 lakh, respectively.

The top-of-the-line ZXi+ AMT now carries a price tag of Rs. 7.37 lakh, reflecting a Rs. 32,500 increase. Just a couple of months ago, Maruti Suzuki launched a special edition Celerio with Rs. 11,000 worth of accessories, including a body kit. The latest generation of the Celerio was launched in late 2021, featuring extensive design and feature revisions.
