Ola Sankalp 2024: Bhavish Aggarwal Unveils Free Krutrim Cloud Access for Developers

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola and Krutrim

At the Ola Sankalp 2024 event, Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola and Krutrim, made several significant announcements focused on developers. Among the most exciting developments was the news that Krutrim Cloud would be free for developers until Diwali this year. This move aims to empower developers by providing them access to advanced AI cloud services at no cost for a limited time, fostering innovation and experimentation in the AI space.

Krutrim Cloud’s Impressive Growth

Since its launch six months ago, Krutrim Cloud has experienced remarkable growth. The platform has processed approximately 250 billion API calls and generated over 1 trillion tokens. These numbers underscore the rapid adoption and scalability of Krutrim Cloud, positioning it as a key player in the AI cloud ecosystem. Aggarwal also revealed the company’s ambitious goal of building India’s first AI cloud within its own data centers. This cloud will be powered by the company’s proprietary Bodhi chips, which are expected to be released by 2026.

Supporting Startups and Innovation

During the event, Aggarwal highlighted how startups are leveraging Krutrim AI Cloud to drive innovation. Dashtoon, an early-stage startup, is using Krutrim AI Cloud for training and fine-tuning its AI models. This collaboration showcases the platform’s potential to support AI-driven businesses in their formative stages. Additionally, the startup Together is utilizing Ola Maps to enhance its customer experience, further demonstrating Krutrim’s versatility and applicability across various industries.

New Offerings for Developers

Starting today, Krutrim Cloud is available to developers, offering a range of no-code and low-code computing platforms specifically tailored for Indian use cases. This includes offerings such as GPU-as-a-service and model-as-a-service, which enable developers to access high-performance computing resources without the need for extensive coding expertise. One of the standout features is Krutrim H100 Tiny, available at just 1/25th of the price on AI pods. This GPU slicing service provides resource-efficient computing, making advanced AI tools more accessible to a broader audience.

Expansion of Krutrim Cloud Services

In addition to these offerings, Krutrim Cloud has introduced over 50 new services designed to enhance the developer experience. These services include infrastructure services like virtual machines, cloud storage, and advanced data protection security measures. Observability features have also been integrated, allowing for precise data monitoring and analysis, which are crucial for maintaining the performance and reliability of AI applications.

AI Pods and AI Studio for Advanced AI Development

Ola also unveiled AI pods, a cost-effective solution for developers seeking affordable GPU access. These pods are designed to democratize access to high-performance computing resources, enabling developers to experiment and build sophisticated AI models without breaking the bank. Alongside this, the AI studio was introduced, providing a platform for creating complex AI applications. The studio offers a model catalog featuring large language models (LLMs) and vision models, as well as capabilities for no-code/low-code training, fine-tuning, inference, and model evaluation.

Conclusion

The Ola Sankalp 2024 event highlighted Ola’s commitment to advancing AI technology and supporting the developer community. With the introduction of free access to Krutrim Cloud until Diwali, along with a suite of new services and tools, Ola is positioning itself as a leader in the AI cloud space. As the company continues to innovate and expand its offerings, it is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI in India and beyond.
