Toyota has unveiled the production version of its Urban Cruiser EV, a compact electric SUV that shares design cues with the Suzuki e-Vitara. While the production model maintains the overall sleek and modern look of the concept, it incorporates practical adjustments for mass production.
The Urban Cruiser EV boasts a slightly larger grille and headlights compared to the concept, along with black cladding on the sides to emphasize its SUV stance. It offers a choice of 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels and various color options, including dual-tone combinations. With dimensions larger than the e-Vitara, the Urban Cruiser EV offers a spacious interior.

Powering the Urban Cruiser EV are two battery options: a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh. The 49 kWh version delivers 144 hp and 189 Nm of torque, while the 61 kWh variant offers 174 hp and the same torque output. An all-wheel-drive version, powered by the 61 kWh battery, adds a rear motor for a total output of 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque.
Inside, the cabin shares similarities with the Suzuki e-Vitara, featuring a digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a range of modern conveniences like wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof. Safety is a priority, with the Urban Cruiser EV equipped with advanced features such as a 360-degree camera and a suite of ADAS functions.
