Thai Lion Air Launches Chennai-Bangkok Flights

Thai Lion Air

Thai Lion Air has introduced a new direct flight connecting Chennai and Bangkok, starting December 16th. This makes Thai Lion Air the fourth airline to offer direct flights on this popular route, joining Thai Airways, AirAsia, and Indigo Airlines.

Initially, the new route will operate four days a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. However, Thai Lion Air plans to increase the frequency to daily flights soon. The flight from Bangkok will arrive in Chennai at 1 AM, and the return flight will depart from Chennai at 2 AM, with a travel time of approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes.

This increased connectivity between Chennai and Bangkok is driven by the rising popularity of Thailand as a destination for Indian travelers. Thai Lion Air aims to capitalize on this growing demand by offering affordable travel options.

In another development, Cathay Pacific has upgraded its Chennai-Hong Kong route by replacing the Airbus A330-300 with the larger Airbus A350-900, which can accommodate up to 350 passengers. The airline also plans to increase the frequency of this route to daily flights soon.

These developments highlight the increasing importance of Chennai as a hub for international travel and the growing connectivity to popular Asian destinations.
