Mercedes-Benz India is set to launch two significant models in January 2025: the EQS 450 SUV and the G 580. The EQS 450 SUV is particularly noteworthy as India will be the first country outside the US to assemble this electric vehicle.
The EQS 450 will be a five-seater variant, offering more spacious rear seating compared to the seven-seater EQS 580. While it will share the same striking design and luxurious interior as its sibling, the EQS 450 will feature a unique interior layout to accommodate the five-seat configuration.
Powering the EQS 450 will be a 122 kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of 857 km on a single charge. This battery powers two electric motors, one on each axle, delivering a combined output of 537 hp and 858 Nm of torque. This potent powertrain enables the EQS 450 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds.
The EQS 450 will be equipped with a range of advanced features, including a 56-inch Hyperscreen, a luxurious interior with premium materials, and a comprehensive suite of safety features, such as a Level 2 ADAS system and multiple airbags.
Alongside the EQS 450, Mercedes-Benz will also launch the G 580, a luxurious and rugged off-roader. This iconic SUV will offer a blend of opulence and off-road capability, making it a desirable choice for those seeking both luxury and performance.
