KTM Cuts Ties with MV Agusta Amidst Financial Crisis

KTM, the renowned motorcycle manufacturer, has been grappling with financial challenges that have made headlines internationally. The latest development in this saga involves MV Agusta, an Italian motorcycle brand that KTM’s parent company, Pierer Mobility AG, recently acquired.

Earlier this year, KTM acquired a majority stake in MV Agusta in a series of transactions. However, due to the ongoing financial crisis, KTM has decided to divest its ownership in MV Agusta. This move will see the Italian brand operate independently once again.

KTM’s financial difficulties stem from various factors, including a decline in motorcycle interest in its primary market, Europe, supply chain disruptions, and the transition to electric motorcycles. The company has also faced challenges in the American market. Despite these setbacks, KTM still retains ownership of the Husqvarna and Gas Gas brands.

As KTM navigates these turbulent waters, it is undertaking significant restructuring measures to improve its financial performance and secure its future.
