KTM recently unveiled a lineup of 11 motorcycles in India, primarily focusing on top-spec variants. However, the company has expressed its intent to introduce lower-spec variants in the future, catering to a wider range of riders and budgets.
During a press conference, a top KTM executive confirmed to BikeWale that the company will assess the demand for lower-spec models and introduce them accordingly. The initial launch of top-spec variants like the 890 Adventure R, 890 Duke R, and 1390 Super Duke R at competitive prices has helped establish KTM’s premium brand image. However, the introduction of lower-spec models will make these motorcycles more accessible to a larger audience, potentially boosting sales volumes.
KTM’s top-down launch strategy allows the brand to build strong brand recognition and create a premium image. By gradually introducing more affordable variants, KTM can tap into a wider market segment and compete more effectively with rivals.
While specific timelines for the launch of lower-spec models have not been announced, it is expected to happen within the next 12-18 months, depending on market demand and other factors.
