Ram has begun accepting orders for its 2025 ProMaster EV cargo van in the United States, with deliveries expected to start in the second quarter. This marks Ram’s first foray into the electric vehicle market with a production model. However, the ProMaster EV’s range is somewhat limited, which is not unexpected given its large cargo van design.
The ProMaster EV cargo van starts at $56,495, plus a $1,995 destination charge. It’s available in two configurations, both built on a 159-inch wheelbase: a standard 12-foot cargo area and an extended 13-foot cargo area. Both cargo van versions share a payload capacity of 3,020 pounds (1,369 kg).
Ram is also offering the ProMaster EV as a Step Van, which starts at a higher price of $69,995, excluding destination. This model includes the previously optional Safety & Convenience Group as standard, but its payload capacity is slightly lower at 2,876 lbs (1,304 kg).

Powertrain and Range
All 2025 Ram ProMaster EV models utilize a 110 kWh battery pack powering a single electric motor that drives the front wheels. The motor generates 268 hp and 302 lb-ft (409 Nm) of torque. The standard Cargo Van offers a range of 164 miles (264 km), while the Step Van achieves a slightly better range of 180 miles (290 km). While these figures might not be impressive compared to passenger EVs, they do surpass the 159-mile (256 km) range of the 2025 Ford E-Transit.

Ram brand CEO Tim Kuniskis emphasized the company’s commitment to offering diverse powertrain options, stating that the ProMaster EV is a suitable solution for last-mile delivery. He highlighted the ProMaster’s front-wheel-drive configuration and low step-in height as key advantages for various business sectors, including home delivery, construction, wholesale, and IT services.
