Italian design studio Camal has taken the iconic Caterham Seven and given it a stylish makeover, transforming it into the Scoperta. This one-off creation blends the lightweight, driver-focused ethos of the Caterham with a retro-inspired aesthetic reminiscent of classic Italian sports cars from the 1950s and 60s.
The Scoperta boasts a striking exterior characterized by a large clamshell hood, a dramatic front splitter, and distinctive elliptical LED headlights. The flowing bodywork extends to the sides, incorporating retro-style wing mirrors and side-exit exhausts. The rear end features a bespoke decklid and sleek LED taillights.
Inside, the cabin is equally captivating, featuring a unique elliptical layout with a single panel housing the instrument cluster. A three-spoke steering wheel, a five-speed manual shifter, and distinctive headrests complete the interior.
While the Scoperta currently exists only as a digital concept, Camal has confirmed that it can be produced in limited numbers and homologated for road use. The performance remains unchanged, with the 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine delivering 240 horsepower.
However, owning this unique creation comes with a hefty price tag. Camal estimates that each conversion will cost around €150,000 ($158,000) plus VAT, excluding the cost of the donor Caterham Seven.
