Honda has secured a patent in India for the NPF 125 scooter, a sportier variant derived from the Activa 125. While sharing its foundation with the Activa, the NPF 125 distinguishes itself with a significantly more aggressive design. Sharp, angular body panels, dominated by dual LED headlights, define its front profile. Side panel-mounted turn indicators and a robust, angular tail section further emphasize its sporty character.
The NPF 125 utilizes the same 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the Activa 125, but with tweaked performance figures. While the Activa produces 8.3PS and 10.5Nm, the NPF 125 delivers 9.5PS and 10Nm. This slight power increase and torque decrease could be attributed to the stricter emission standards in India compared to other Asian markets where the scooter is already available. The chassis components, including the telescopic fork and monoshock suspension, are shared with the Activa. The NPF 125 rolls on a 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheel combination, with braking handled by a front disc and a rear drum.

The NPF 125 boasts several feature upgrades over the Activa 125, most notably the inclusion of single-channel ABS. Other enhancements include LED headlights and taillights, keyless ignition, an LCD instrument cluster, and a USB charging port.

Despite the patent, a near-term launch in India seems unlikely. Honda already offers the Dio 125, which shares the same platform as the Activa 125. If the NPF 125 were to be introduced, it would likely carry a premium over the Activa 125, which is priced between Rs 95,140 and Rs 99,146 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Upon its potential release, the NPF 125 would compete with rivals such as the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Access 125, and Hero Xoom 125.
