Aprilia has recently refreshed its 125cc sports bike lineup for 2025, introducing updated versions of the Tuono 125 and the RS 125. These models boast revised aesthetics and an upgraded liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that now complies with the stringent Euro 5+ emissions standards.
Design and Features:
Drawing inspiration from the larger RS 660 and Tuono 660, both the RS 125 and Tuono 125 feature a distinctive triple front headlight setup with integrated indicators. The 2025 models now incorporate full LED lighting and are available in a range of fresh color options. The RS 125 arrives in Kingsnake White and Cyanide Yellow, while the semi-faired Tuono 125 comes in Viper Yellow and Mamba Grey.
Engine and Performance:
At the heart of these updates lies an upgraded 124.2cc single-cylinder engine, shared by both motorcycles. This engine, designed to meet Euro 5+ emissions regulations, delivers 14.7 horsepower at 10,000 RPM and 11.2 Nm of torque at 8,000 RPM. A six-speed gearbox is standard, with an optional quickshifter available for smoother gear transitions.
Chassis and Hardware:
Both the Tuono 125 and RS 125 stand out as the only Italian-made sports bikes in the 125cc class built around an aluminum frame. They share identical hardware, featuring 40mm upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear with an asymmetrical swingarm. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc.
Technology:
Safety features are enhanced with standard traction control and Bosch dual-channel ABS with anti-rollover functionality, preventing wheel lockup during emergency braking. An eight-inch backlit digital instrument cluster provides essential information such as speed, RPM, gear position, fuel level, and fuel economy. A USB charging port is available as an optional accessory.
Availability:
The 2025 Aprilia RS 125 and Tuono 125 will be available in European markets from early 2025. However, an Indian launch is not expected in the near future. Pricing details for both models have yet to be announced.
