Honda has officially launched the 2025 versions of the CB1000 Hornet and CB1000 Hornet SP in the UK. These litre-class naked streetfighters are set to compete against the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S1000, Yamaha MT-10, and Kawasaki Z900.
The standard CB1000 Hornet is priced at GBP 8,999 (approximately Rs. 9.82 lakh), while the sportier SP variant commands a premium of GBP 9,999 (approximately Rs. 10.91 lakh). The Hornet SP boasts a more premium specification, featuring Öhlins TTX36 rear monoshock, fully adjustable Showa forks, and Brembo Stylema front brake callipers. Its aggressive fascia, reminiscent of the Ducati Streetfighter V4, adds to its sporty appeal.
Under the hood, both models are powered by a detuned version of the 999cc, four-cylinder engine that previously propelled the 2017 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. While the Fireblade’s engine was tuned for high-rpm power, Honda has optimized the Hornet’s motor to deliver strong performance in the low and mid-range. The standard Hornet produces 150bhp at 11,000rpm and 104Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm, while the SP variant offers slightly more power and torque at 155bhp and 107Nm, respectively.
To enhance rider control and adaptability, the CB1000 Hornet comes with three preset ride modes: Rain, Standard, and Sport. Additionally, there are two customizable ‘User’ modes that allow riders to tailor power delivery, engine braking, and traction control intervention to their preferences. The motorcycle also features a modern TFT display, LED projector headlamp, and Bluetooth connectivity for added convenience.
The CB1000 Hornet SP, in particular, stands out with its quickshifter and distinctive black and gold JPS-style livery. This premium variant is designed to cater to riders seeking a more track-focused experience.
Honda’s launch of the 2025 CB1000 Hornet and Hornet SP in the UK marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in the litre-class naked streetfighter segment. With its combination of performance, technology, and styling, these models are poised to make a strong impression on riders.
