Leapmotor has announced a new range-extended variant of its C10 electric SUV, set to debut at the upcoming Brussels Motor Show. This innovative model aims to bridge the gap between pure electric vehicles and traditional gasoline cars by offering extended range and superior fuel efficiency.
Powering the C10 REEV is a combination of a 1.5-liter engine, a 28.4 kWh battery pack, and a 212 hp electric motor. While the battery provides an electric-only range of 145 km (WLTP), the integrated range extender significantly increases the overall driving range to over 950 km.
Leapmotor emphasizes that the C10 REEV prioritizes electric driving. The internal combustion engine seamlessly activates to recharge the battery when the electric range is depleted, ensuring uninterrupted journeys. In combined mode, the vehicle boasts impressive fuel efficiency with a consumption rate of just 0.4 L/100 km and CO2 emissions as low as 10 g/km.
For rapid charging, the C10 REEV supports DC fast charging, enabling a range extension of approximately 72.5 km in just 18 minutes.
While specific details remain limited, the C10 REEV is expected to inherit many of the features found in the fully electric C10 variant. This includes stylish exterior elements such as LED headlights, a panoramic glass roof, 18-inch wheels, privacy glass, and flush-mounted door handles.
The interior maintains a minimalist aesthetic, yet offers a comfortable and well-equipped cabin. Standard features include power front seats, a wireless smartphone charger, a 12-speaker audio system, and a 14.6-inch infotainment display. Higher-spec models available for the German market will further enhance the driving experience with features like heated and ventilated front seats, an ambient lighting system, a power liftgate, and larger 20-inch wheels.
The C10 REEV represents a significant step forward for Leapmotor, offering a compelling alternative for consumers seeking the benefits of electric driving with the added reassurance of extended range and reduced range anxiety.
