Toyota has unveiled its latest electric SUV, the Urban Cruiser. This new model shares a striking resemblance to the Suzuki e-Vitara, featuring similar styling and underpinnings. Available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, the Urban Cruiser offers a spacious cabin for its size.

Measuring 4,285 mm in length, the Urban Cruiser sits between the Yaris Cross and C-HR in Toyota’s European SUV lineup. Its exterior design draws inspiration from the Urban SUV Concept, with toned-down features for production. The distinctive Toyota face, with its hammerhead headlights and unique tail lights, sets it apart from its Suzuki counterpart.

Inside, the Urban Cruiser boasts a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen. The cabin features dark-themed upholstery and a floating center console with glossy black inserts. Additional features include a JBL premium audio system, a fixed sunroof, and an array of advanced driver assistance systems.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Urban Cruiser offers a surprisingly spacious interior. The generous 2,700 mm wheelbase, 140 mm longer than the Yaris Cross, and sliding/reclining rear seats contribute to its practicality.

The Urban Cruiser is built on a dedicated EV platform and offers three powertrain options: two front-wheel-drive variants with 142 hp or 172 hp, and an all-wheel-drive model with 182 hp. Battery options include a 49 kWh unit for FWD models and a 61 kWh unit for both FWD and AWD configurations.

While specific WLTP range figures are yet to be released, the Urban Cruiser incorporates energy-saving features like a heat pump and battery pre-heating function.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will make its public debut at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show, with pricing details to be announced closer to its European market launch next year. Toyota aims to achieve zero CO2 emissions in Europe by 2035 and carbon neutrality by 2040, and the Urban Cruiser is a key part of this strategy.
