Ultraviolette, renowned for its high-performance electric motorcycles, is set to expand its product portfolio with the introduction of a new electric adventure tourer in 2025. This development follows the recent record-breaking quarter-mile run by an F99 prototype, solidifying Ultraviolette’s position as a leader in Indian electric motorcycle performance.
While the specific details remain under wraps, the upcoming motorcycle will leverage the valuable insights gained from the development and success of the current F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycle. At the recent EICMA 2024 motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, Ultraviolette showcased the Concept X, a striking road-biased adventure concept that provides a glimpse into the company’s vision for this new segment.
Concept X: A Glimpse into the Future
The Concept X, aesthetically inspired by the F77 Mach 2, appears to share a similar core architecture, including the battery, motor, and key hardware components. Equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and road-focused tires, along with conventional suspension, the Concept X is more likely to excel as a comfortable long-distance tourer rather than an aggressive off-roader.
Performance Expectations
Performance levels for the production version are expected to be on par with the F77 Mach 2, which boasts impressive specifications. The F77 Mach 2 offers two battery options: a 7.1 kWh standard pack and a 10.3 kWh Recon pack. Powering the motorcycle is a mid-ship mounted electric motor that delivers a robust 29.7 kW (40 bhp) and 90-100 Nm of torque, propelling the bike to a top speed of 155 kmph.
Expanding the Electric Motorcycle Landscape
Ultraviolette has ambitious plans to diversify its product lineup, aiming to introduce four distinct motorcycle segments within the next three years: adventure, cruiser, roadster, and supersports. The Concept X, with its striking design and potential for long-distance touring, has garnered significant interest from European dealers, highlighting the growing demand for versatile electric motorcycles.
A Look Ahead
The Concept X is anticipated to make its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. While the core powertrain may be derived from the F77 Mach 2, the adventure tourer is expected to feature tailored hardware, including increased suspension travel, improved ground clearance, and optimized steering geometry to enhance its off-road capabilities.
