Aprilia Tuareg 660: As the popularity of middleweight adventure motorcycles surges in India, Aprilia is ready to join the fray. The Italian brand recently announced the upcoming launch of their first-ever adventure bike in the country, the Tuareg 660. Scheduled to arrive on April 16th, let’s explore what riders can expect from this exciting new machine.

Aprilia Tuareg 660: Colour Choices & Price

Aprilia will offer the Aprilia Tuareg 660 in three distinct colour options: Atreides Black, Evocative Dakar Podium, and Canyon Sand. The company has already revealed pricing ahead of the official launch. Both the Atreides Black and Evocative Dakar Podium variants will carry a price tag of Rs 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Canyon Sand will be slightly more expensive at Rs 19.16 lakh (ex-showroom).

Feature-Packed for Adventure Riding

While colour schemes may differ, all three Tuareg 660 variants are expected to boast identical features and specifications. Riders can expect a modern five-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The motorcycle will also come equipped with traction control, switchable engine maps, and engine braking for enhanced control. Aprilia’s Performance Ride Control (APRC) system will further elevate the experience by offering four ride modes, including two customizable options, along with switchable rear ABS and cruise control.

Aprilia Tuareg 660: Expected Engine and Hardware

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 shares its platform with the Tuono 660 and RS 660, already available in India. This translates to a powerful 659cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine churning out 80 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 70 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a dependable 6-speed gearbox.

However, the Tuareg 660 truly shines in its off-road prowess. The motorcycle boasts a robust hardware setup specifically designed for tackling tough terrain. A 43mm Kayaba fully-adjustable USD front fork and a matching Kayaba fully-adjustable rear monoshock provide a massive 240mm of suspension travel at both ends, soaking up bumps and jumps with ease.

The adventure bike rolls on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in tubeless tires, ensuring grip and stability on various surfaces. Weighing in at a manageable 187 kg dry weight and offering an 860mm seat height, the Tuareg 660 strikes a balance between capability and rider comfort.
