Mahindra XUV 3XO

Indian automaker Mahindra & Mahindra is on the verge of introducing their newest SUV, the XUV 3XO, scheduled for an official unveiling on April 29, 2024. This upcoming model is believed to be a substantial upgrade to the 2019 XUV 300, boasting a revamped exterior design and a comprehensively improved interior. Anticipation is building for the reveal, with an estimated starting price of ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom).

A teaser video, shared by Chairman Anand Mahindra, offers an intriguing preview of the XUV 3XO. While retaining the XUV 300’s basic shape, the new model features redesigned front and rear ends, drawing design cues from Mahindra’s BE lineup of electric SUVs.

The significant exterior enhancements include redesigned headlight clusters, chrome-trimmed triangular accents adorning the grille, and distinctive fang-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The rear boasts a restyled tailgate with integrated LED taillights, along with a raised bumper that proudly displays the “XUV 3XO” emblem and Mahindra logo.

According to a report by the Economics Times, the forthcoming Mahindra SUV is expected to incorporate a panoramic sunroof and a dashboard layout similar to the XUV 400 EV. The technological advancements may also include a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, AdrenoX connected car tech, cruise control, and a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster. Further improvements designed to enhance the driving experience include dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, and conveniently placed type-C USB outlets for charging devices.

Safety remains a top priority for Mahindra, and the XUV 3XO is expected to come equipped with six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, ISOFIX child seat mounts, traction control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.

The XUV 3XO is likely to retain the current engine options, providing customers with a choice between a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine producing 115 hp and 300 Nm torque, a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine delivering 110 hp and 200 Nm torque, and a 1.2-liter turbo petrol Turbosport variant offering 130 hp and 230 Nm torque. Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission with Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology.
