Confirmed Train Tickets: If you frequently travel by train, this news is for you. Keeping in mind the convenience of railway passengers, the government is continuously working. Railway and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that in the next five years, anyone who wants to book a train ticket will be able to get a confirmed ticket easily. He said that Prime Minister Modi has made this promise keeping the convenience of passengers in mind.

In a conversation with the news agency IANS, Ashwini Vaishnaw said that Prime Minister Modi has brought about significant changes in the railways in the last 10 years. The Central Minister emphasized that in the coming five years, Prime Minister Modi guarantees that work will continue consistently on enhancing the capacity of the railways. The capacity of trains will be increased to the extent that anyone who wants to travel will be able to get a confirmed ticket easily. Giving an example of how Indian Railways has changed in the last decade, the Central Minister mentioned that between 2004 and 2014, only 17,000 kilometers of track were laid.

31,000 Kilometers of New Tracks Laid

Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that from 2014 to 2024, compared to the first 10 years’ 17,000 kilometers, 31,000 kilometers of new track have been laid. From 2004 to 2014, electrification was done for approximately 5,000 kilometers in 10 years. However, if we look at the last 10 years, during this period, electrification of 44,000 kilometers of railway lines has been done. The Central Minister mentioned the work of the last 10 years and said that from 2004 to 2014, only 32,000 coaches were manufactured. During the last 10 years, 54,000 coaches have been made.

Construction of even a one-kilometer dedicated freight corridor was not done before 2014. He revealed that two dedicated freight corridors spanning 2,734 kilometers have been operationalized. He said that in the next five years, the railway, which is a strong link for the development of the country’s economy, will be further strengthened. Especially, facilities for passengers will be expanded rapidly.
