Car Care Tips: Drive Cool In Summers! 5 Tips to ensure your car won't stop midway

Summer has knocked on the doors across India, and temperatures are rising in various regions of the country. Just as we make preparations to keep ourselves healthy during the summer months, our cars also require some care and maintenance. Let’s learn about 5 essential tasks that will help you drive cool during the intense heat.

AC Service

One of the most hardworking components during summers is the air conditioning system. Car owners often complain that it takes a lot of time to cool down the cabin during the heat. To avoid this problem, make sure that the cabin air filter is clean, as a dirty filter can affect the performance of the AC and may also cause unpleasant odors inside the cabin.

Windshield Wiper Inspection

Windshield wipers are most effective during the rainy season. During summers, direct heat affects the rubber, causing it to dry out. As a result, wipers become less effective in cleaning the windshield. Ensure to check the condition of the wiper blades and replace them if necessary.

Fluid Check-Up

Due to high temperatures, engine oil often depletes quickly, especially if the oil is old and degraded. Regularly check the engine oil level and add the recommended oil by the OEM to prevent any damage to the powerplant, as engine oil acts as a lubricant and protects moving parts of the engine from friction.

Battery Check

The best way to keep the car battery in optimal condition is to keep it clean. It can be cleaned by disconnecting the battery cables regularly and cleaning the terminals. Also, make sure that the battery is securely strapped and all connections are secure. Check that the battery terminals are tight and free from dirt and grime.

Tire Pressure Checking

Based on the external temperature, the air pressure in tires decreases and increases daily. Hot weather increases the air pressure in tires, while underinflated tires result in decreased fuel efficiency of the car. To avoid this problem, regularly check tire pressure.
