Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to unveil its first electric vehicle for the Indian market at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Ahead of its official debut, the automaker has released a teaser image of the e Vitara, hinting at its design and key features. The electric SUV is set to make its grand entrance on January 17th in New Delhi, with a market launch expected later in 2025.
The e Vitara will compete in a rapidly growing segment, facing rivals such as the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra BE6, with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV also poised to join the fray.
The teaser image reveals a design language inspired by the eVX Concept, featuring distinctive Y-shaped LED DRLs flanking the brand logo and a muscular bonnet. The production version will likely incorporate refinements to enhance its visual appeal.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to equip the e Vitara with a comprehensive suite of features, prioritizing safety and technology to compete effectively in a segment known for its well-equipped offerings.
The e Vitara will be underpinned by the brand’s new HEARTECT-e platform and is expected to be offered with two battery pack options: a 49 kWh unit for lower trims and a 61 kWh unit for higher variants. Power will be delivered to the wheels via an electric motor, with an all-wheel-drive configuration likely to be available.
