Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has recently unveiled two new electric scooters: the Activa e: and the QC 1. While the exact pricing details will be announced in January 2025, the QC 1 is set to go on sale in February 2025, with deliveries commencing across India.
The Activa e:, on the other hand, will be introduced in a phased manner. It will first be available in Bengaluru in February 2025, followed by Mumbai and Delhi in April 2025. This phased rollout aligns with Honda’s strategy of establishing a robust battery-swapping infrastructure.
QC 1: The Entry-Level Electric Scooter
The QC 1 is positioned as Honda’s entry-level electric scooter. It comes equipped with a 1.5 kWh fixed battery pack that offers a range of 80 km on a single charge. The BLDC motor powering the scooter delivers a top speed of 50 kmph. A full charge can be achieved in 4.5 hours.
Activa e: A Premium Electric Scooter
The Activa e: takes the premium position in Honda’s electric scooter lineup. It features two removable 1.5 kWh battery packs, providing a range of 102 km on a full charge. The scooter’s 6 kW motor enables a top speed of 80 kmph.
Design and Features
Both scooters feature a modern and stylish design, with sleek lines and LED lighting. They are also equipped with a range of features, including a digital instrument cluster, keyless ignition, and USB charging ports.
With the introduction of the Activa e: and QC 1, Honda aims to strengthen its position in the growing electric two-wheeler market in India. These new models will compete with offerings from other major brands like Ola, Ather, TVS, and Vida.
