Luxeed S7 Electric Sedan Receives 2025 Updates with Fresh Colors and Lower Prices

Luxeed S7

Luxeed, a joint venture between Huawei and Chery, has unveiled the 2025 model year updates for its S7 electric sedan, just a year after its initial launch. These updates aim to boost its appeal with new color options and a more competitive price, positioning the S7 as a strong contender against the Tesla Model 3.

Initially released in November 2023, the Luxeed S7 faced early challenges due to supply chain issues. However, following a reintroduction in April 2024 with minor adjustments, the 2025 version arrives with enhancements designed to reignite consumer interest and capture a larger share of the competitive EV market.

Exterior Enhancements

The 4,971 mm (195.7 inches) long S7, which debuted Huawei’s HIMA styling language, retains its sleek design. This distinctive design language is now featured across other Huawei-backed models like the Stelato S9, Aito M9 SUV, and Luxeed R7 coupe SUV. While the S7’s exterior remains unchanged, it now offers four striking new colors: Phantom Purple, Blue Wave, Metropolitan Red, and Sunshine Blue. Additionally, the high-performance Luxeed S7 Ultra mirrors some aesthetic elements of the Tesla Model 3 Performance, such as black 21-inch wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, and subtle aerodynamic enhancements.

Interior and Technology Updates

Inside the 2025 Luxeed S7, the cabin largely mirrors the 2024 model but includes notable upgrades. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch touchscreen running on Huawei’s advanced HarmonyOS 4. The front seats boast zero-gravity technology for enhanced comfort, while the rear seats offer heating and ventilation.

Additional luxury upgrades include dual wireless charging pads and a premium 17-speaker audio system. Huawei’s ADS 2.0 semi-autonomous driving system, with remote parking capabilities, further enhances the driving experience through a sophisticated array of sensors.

Powertrain and Performance

The Luxeed S7 is built on the E0X architecture, shared with models like the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV and Exeed Sterra ES sedan. It is offered with two powertrain options: a single rear-mounted motor generating 288 hp (215 kW) or a dual-motor setup producing a combined 489 hp (365 kW). The sedan’s battery options include an 82 kWh or a 100 kWh CATL-supplied pack. The latter offers an impressive CLTC range of up to 855 km (531 miles) in the rear-wheel-drive configuration.

Competitive Pricing

One of the most significant updates for the 2025 model is its reduced price. Depending on the trim level, prices have been slashed by ¥10,000 to ¥30,000 ($1,400 to $4,100), making the S7 more affordable than the Tesla Model 3. However, with Tesla’s history of aggressive price adjustments, further price competition may arise.
