Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the facelifted version of its popular 3-row SUV, the Hyundai Alcazar. Priced starting from Rs 14.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India), the Alcazar facelift comes with the same engine options as its predecessor. However, Hyundai has now revealed the claimed fuel efficiency figures for all the powertrain options.
Powertrain and Mileage Details
The Alcazar is offered with two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel. Both engines are paired with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Here are the claimed fuel efficiency figures:
Engine | Power (PS) | Torque (Nm) | Transmission | Fuel Efficiency (kmpl) |
1.5-litre turbo-petrol | 116 | 253 | 6-speed MT | 17.5 |
1.5-litre turbo-petrol | 116 | 253 | 7-speed DCT | 18 |
1.5-litre diesel | 160 | 250 | 6-speed MT | 20.4 |
1.5-litre diesel | 160 | 250 | 6-speed AT | 18.1 |
*DCT = Dual-clutch automatic transmission; AT = Torque converter automatic transmission
Key takeaways:
- Diesel-manual is the most fuel-efficient: The diesel variant with a 6-speed manual transmission offers the best fuel economy, with a claimed mileage of 20.4 kmpl.
- Turbo-petrol with a 6-speed manual is the least frugal: The turbo-petrol variant with a 6-speed manual transmission has the lowest claimed fuel efficiency at 17.5 kmpl.
- DCT and AT variants have similar fuel efficiency: Both the turbo-petrol DCT and diesel-automatic variants offer comparable fuel efficiency.
Note: These are ARAI-claimed figures, and real-world fuel economy may vary based on driving conditions and driving style.
Other Highlights of the Alcazar Facelift
- Updated design: The Alcazar facelift features a revised exterior design, aligning it more closely with the updated Hyundai Creta.
- Enhanced interior: The cabin gets a new dashboard layout and a navy blue and brown interior theme.
- Feature-rich: The Alcazar is equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens, dual-zone climate control, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, and more.
- Safety features: The SUV comes with 6 airbags, ESC, TPMS, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
