Hyundai India has recently launched a revamped version of its 7-seater SUV, the Alcazar. This mid-cycle refresh aims to revitalize the model’s popularity and compete against rivals like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
Design and Dimensions
The 2024 Alcazar boasts a more aggressive and muscular appearance compared to its predecessor. The front fascia features a bold H-shaped grille, connected LED DRLs, and a wide scuff plate. The sides showcase new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, larger rear quarter windows, and black-painted cladding. The rear end receives a significant makeover with a revised spoiler, bumper, and skid plate, along with connected LED taillamps and sequential turn indicators.
In terms of dimensions, the Alcazar has grown slightly larger, offering more cabin space for passengers. It now measures 4,560 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm.
Interior and Features
The cabin of the 2024 Alcazar has been updated with a new dashboard design, similar to the facelifted Creta. The interior is adorned with premium materials and offers a comfortable and spacious environment for occupants. The 6-seater variant now features ventilated second-row seats with folding armrests and thigh extenders, enhancing comfort and accessibility to the third row.
The feature list of the Alcazar is extensive, including a power walk-in device, wing-type headrest, driver power seat memory function, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, digital key with NFC, 70+ connected car features, 270+ voice commands, 10.25-inch displays for infotainment unit and instrument cluster, auto-dimming IRVM, 6 airbags, Level-2 ADAS, 8-speaker Bose sound system, and more.
Performance and Efficiency
The Alcazar facelift continues to offer a choice of two powertrain options: a 1.5L diesel engine and a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine. The diesel engine delivers 115 HP and 250 Nm of torque, while the turbo-petrol unit produces 160 HP and 253 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired with manual or automatic transmissions.
The Alcazar also comes equipped with 3 drive modes (Normal, Eco, and Sport) and 3 traction modes (Snow, Mud, and Sand), paddle shifters, and idle start-stop system.
Color Options
The 2024 Alcazar is available in a range of 9 colors, including 8 mono-tone options and 1 dual-tone option. The color palette offers a variety of choices to suit different preferences.
Conclusion
With its refreshed design, enhanced features, and powerful engine options, the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar is well-positioned to compete in the 7-seater SUV segment. The combination of style, comfort, and performance makes it a compelling choice for those seeking a versatile and spacious vehicle.
