KTM 990 R Unveiled: More Power, More Performance

KTM has unveiled the highly anticipated Duke 990 R, a more powerful and performance-focused version of the popular 990 Duke. This new model boasts significant upgrades in terms of engine power, suspension, and electronics.

Engine and Performance:

The Duke 990 R is powered by a 947cc parallel-twin engine that has been tuned to deliver 7 horsepower more than the standard model. This increased power output is achieved through a higher rev limit, resulting in a more exhilarating riding experience. The torque output remains unchanged, ensuring strong low-end and mid-range performance.

Chassis and Suspension:

The Duke 990 R features premium WP Apex open-cartridge forks up front, offering improved damping and responsiveness. The rear suspension has also been upgraded, with a revised linkage system for optimized handling and comfort.

Brakes and Electronics:

The bike is equipped with Brembo Stylema calipers, providing powerful and precise braking performance. Bosch ABS with cornering ABS ensures safety and stability in various riding conditions. The Duke 990 R also comes with a multi-level traction control system and multiple riding modes, allowing riders to tailor the bike’s behavior to their preferences.

Technology and Features:

The 990 Duke R features a state-of-the-art TFT instrument cluster that offers clear and concise information. The display can be connected to a smartphone via the KTM app, providing navigation and other connected features.

The KTM 990 Duke R is currently available in a single color option and is expected to go on sale in Europe and the US in the coming year. It’s uncertain whether the bike will be launched in India, but it could make its way to the Indian market sometime next year, depending on market demand and regulatory approvals.
