Maruti Dzire 2024: A New Generation of Subcompact Sedan

Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, is set to launch the 2024 Dzire, a significant update to its popular subcompact sedan. The new Dzire is expected to hit the market in November 2024 with a host of improvements, including a fresh design, upgraded interior, and a new powertrain option.

A Design Reimagined

While the previous generation Dzire distanced itself from its Swift hatchback sibling, the 2024 model will likely take this separation even further. Expect a more pronounced grille, sleeker headlights, and stylish alloy wheels. The rear end is also expected to receive a makeover with redesigned tail lights and modern LED lighting elements.

Upgraded Interior

Inside, the 2024 Dzire is likely to maintain the dual-tone black and beige cabin theme seen in its predecessor. However, the dashboard layout is expected to draw inspiration from the recently launched 2024 Swift.

Maruti will likely equip the new Dzire with a range of modern features, including a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, and cruise control. A standout feature is expected to be a single-pane sunroof, making it the first subcompact sedan in India to offer this amenity.

Safety is also a priority, with the 2024 Dzire likely to come with six airbags as standard, electronic stability program, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

New Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the 2024 Dzire will likely be powered by the new Z-series 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that debuted in the 2024 Swift. This engine delivers 82 horsepower and 112 Nm of torque and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission.

A CNG variant is also expected to be introduced at a later stage.

Expected Price and Competition

The 2024 Maruti Dzire is likely to be priced around Rs. 6.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with other popular subcompact sedans in India, such as the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and Honda Amaze.
