One of Kia Motors India’s upcoming launches this year is the new Carnival. This upcoming MPV was recently spotted in India without camouflage. Compared to international markets, Kia had introduced the older generation of the Carnival MPV in India. Last year at the Auto Expo, they showcased the KA4 MPV concept, which is actually the fourth generation Carnival. Kia has also released a facelift for international markets, and it is this variant that was recently seen on our roads.
The images were shared by Autojournal India on their Instagram page. Kia has been testing this luxury MPV for quite some time, but this is the first time the car has been seen without camouflage. We see the Kia Carnival at a toll plaza. The MPV is clearly visible in the video. The exact location where the car was seen is unclear. However, we believe it was near the manufacturing plant located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
The front of the MPV features a vertically standing front grille with the signature tiger-nose design. Like the Seltos and other Kia models, there are L-shaped LED DRLs and all LED headlamps positioned at the top. The ice cube design is clearly visible on the headlamps. There are no cloud lamps on the bumper. There are chrome bits on the front grille, and a silver-colored faux skid plate is also visible here.
The video also shows the rear of the Kia Carnival. The MPV gets a heavily revised rear end. There are L-shaped elements similar to those seen at the front. The rear design is similar to what we have seen in the Kia Seltos and Sonet facelifts.
There is an LED connecting bar that runs across the width of the car. We see new dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark fin antenna, an integrated roof spoiler, and a Carnival badge on the lower left corner of the rear.
Like the front, there is a silver-colored faux skid plate, and the reflector lights are integrated into the bumper. Large electrically opening sliding doors are visible, and the Nardo Grey-like color on the MPV looks really good.
The fourth generation Kia Carnival will offer several premium features like the previous generation. We expect to see two 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard. One of them will be the instrument cluster, while the other will be a touchscreen infotainment system.
Other features include a rotary drive selector knob, head-up display, twin sunroof or panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control (3 or 4 zones), 360-degree camera, leatherette upholstery with seat ventilation, and many more features. Kia will also offer Level 2 ADAS along with other safety features and rear seat entertainment screens. It remains to be seen whether Kia will offer the Carnival in 7, 9, or 11-seat configurations in India.
The upcoming Kia Carnival is expected to be powered by the same 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine option, generating 201 PS and 440 Nm of peak torque. Like the previous version, it will be an extremely spacious MPV. Kia is expected to launch the new Carnival around the festive season this year. It will be slightly more expensive than the Toyota Innova Hycross.
