Nissan Formula E

Nissan Formula E Team is gearing up for the final showdown of the 2023/24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The team will be competing in Rounds 15 and 16 at the iconic ExCel London Circuit, aiming to secure a strong finish to the season.

Currently holding the fifth position in the Teams’ Championship, Nissan is determined to climb the ranks and potentially clinch the third spot as the season draws to a close. The squad has showcased impressive performance throughout the year, with driver Oliver Rowland making a remarkable comeback following his absence in Portland due to illness. The British driver is eager to deliver a strong performance in front of his home crowd and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Joining Rowland in the garage is Sacha Fenestraz, who aims to end his second season with the team on a high note by securing points and supporting the team’s championship aspirations.

The 2.09-kilometer ExCel London Circuit presents a unique challenge with its half-indoor, half-outdoor layout. The track’s combination of smooth indoor sections and abrasive outdoor roads demands adaptability from the drivers. Overtaking opportunities are available into Turn 1 and the Turn 10-11 chicane, adding an extra layer of excitement to the race.

A Celebration of Partnership

Formula E’s visit to the United Kingdom holds special significance for Nissan, as the automaker has a long-standing relationship with the country. Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, established in 1984, has become a major contributor to the automotive industry, employing thousands of people and producing over 300,000 cars annually. As part of its commitment to electric mobility, the plant is set to manufacture three electric models, solidifying its position as a leader in sustainable automotive manufacturing.

To enhance the excitement of the London E-Prix, Nissan Formula E Team will release the final edition of the ‘Sounds of Season 10’ playlist. Composed by German contemporary artist Mathias Rehfeldt, the London-inspired soundtrack will complement the unique atmosphere of the event. Fans can enjoy previous tracks dedicated to Monaco, Tokyo, and Misano on the full playlist.

Team and Driver Perspectives

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of Nissan Formula E Team, expressed the team’s determination to secure a podium finish in the Teams’ Championship: “We’re ready to give it everything we’ve got going into London in our attempt to claim P3 in the Teams’ Championship. It’s a very tricky and technical circuit which can be made even more difficult if it rains, considering the semi-indoor layout.”

Oliver Rowland, eager to return to the track, shared his excitement for the home race: “I’m delighted to be back after missing the last round in Portland… I’m looking forward to a home E-Prix because it’s an opportunity for friends and family who can’t normally attend to come and watch you race which will be lovely.”

Sacha Fenestraz emphasized the challenges of the London circuit and the team’s preparation for the final races: “London is one of the most challenging tracks of the year. It’s a very technical circuit mixed in with the changing surfaces and conditions from the unique inside/outside circuit layout. We’ve been in the simulator working hard ahead of the finale to ensure we have a good chance of scoring strong points.”

As the Formula E season reaches its climax, Nissan Formula E Team is poised to deliver a thrilling performance in London and leave a lasting impression on the championship.
