Kunal Kamra Accepts Job Offer from Ola’s Bhavish Aggarwal, Sets Conditions to Improve Service Quality

Kunal Kamra and Bhavish Aggarwal

Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has accepted an invitation from Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal to join the company, though with specific conditions. Their exchange began on social media earlier in the month when Kamra criticized Ola’s electric scooter service centers, highlighting customer dissatisfaction. On Monday, Kamra shared his acceptance on X, humorously noting he felt like an “unofficial” Ola employee due to the frequent tags he received from customers facing issues.

The initial confrontation unfolded when Kamra posted a photo of a crowded Ola service center, questioning the quality of service. In response, Aggarwal dismissed it as a “paid tweet,” challenging Kamra to help with service improvements, even offering him more pay than he’d receive for the tweet or his comedy career. Aggarwal further assured customers that Ola’s network expansion would address service delays.

Kamra agreed to assist under certain conditions, urging Ola to repair scooters within seven days of a service request. If repairs extend beyond this period, he suggested providing customers with a replacement scooter or a ₹500 daily reimbursement until completion. He also proposed compensating customers an additional ₹500 per delayed day, up to ₹50,000, and recommended adding a service insurance policy to each new scooter purchase.

Kamra also appealed to Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, urging government intervention in safeguarding customer interests. Reposting another user’s complaint about poor scooter conditions at a Maharashtra center, he highlighted the lack of qualified staff to address the issues.

As of now, Aggarwal has not publicly responded to Kamra’s demands. Last week, Ola Electric’s CFO, Harish Abhichandani, reported that 99% of customer complaints had been resolved satisfactorily through the company’s redressal system.
