The quirky Citroen Ami is getting a makeover for 2025. The updated model features a refreshed design with new front and rear ends, larger lighting units, and a nod to the iconic Citroen 2CV’s side gills.
While the mechanicals remain unchanged, the 2025 Ami boasts a more modern aesthetic with a revamped front and rear fascia, larger headlights and taillights, and beefier bumpers. The new Citroen logo takes center stage, and the headlights have been given a “human” look with black trim resembling eyelids.
One of the most notable design changes is the addition of fake gills on the front right fender, a clear homage to the 1948 Citroen 2CV. These gills are mirrored on the rear left fender, adding a playful touch to the Ami’s symmetrical design. The new wheel covers also feature a unique checkerboard pattern.
The 2025 Citroen Ami is expected to launch in the first half of 2025, with pricing details to be announced closer to the release date.
Beach-Ready Ami Buggy Vision Concept
Alongside the updated production model, Citroen unveiled the Ami Buggy Vision concept at the Paris Motor Show. This beach-inspired version of the Ami features a rugged exterior with a midnight blue paint job, a contrasting white roof, black decals, and yellow-tinted headlights.
The Ami Buggy Vision ditches conventional doors for metal tubes, embracing an open-air design. A canvas sunroof further enhances the outdoor experience, and the concept rides on chunky high-wall tires wrapped around flared fenders.
Additional features include a roof-mounted LED bar, a rear spoiler, special mounts for a kite surfboard, and a unique luggage compartment. The interior features new quilted seat cushions and an infrared shade for the upholstery.
While the Ami Buggy Vision is currently a concept, it’s possible that a toned-down version could make its way into production. The previous iteration of the My Ami Buggy proved popular with buyers, leading Citroen to expand its limited production numbers.
Citroen’s Expanding Ami Lineup
Beyond the updated Ami and the Ami Buggy Vision concept, Citroen also showcased its “Ami Tower” at the Paris Motor Show. This display featured various special editions of the Ami, including the My Ami for All, My Ami Rose Festival, and My Ami Pep.
The Ami is not alone in the heavy quadricycle segment, sharing the limelight with its Stellantis siblings, the Fiat Topolino and Opel Rocks Electric.
