Renault has officially introduced the all-new R4 E-Tech at the Paris Auto Show, marking the culmination of a two-year journey that began with the 4EVER concept. The R4 E-Tech is a fully electric subcompact SUV that reimagines the iconic Renault 4 of the 1960s, blending retro aesthetics with modern technology and practicality.
Sharing many components with the R5 E-Tech, the R4 E-Tech offers a larger footprint, boasting a more spacious interior and a generous cargo area. Despite its increased dimensions, the R4 E-Tech retains a charmingly compact profile, making it a suitable choice for urban driving and small European families.
Under the hood, the R4 E-Tech is powered by a choice of two electric motors and battery packs, offering a range of up to 250 miles on a single charge. The SUV also supports fast charging, allowing for quick replenishment of the battery.
The R4 E-Tech’s exterior design pays homage to the original Renault 4, while incorporating modern elements such as LED lighting and a more rugged stance. The interior features a blend of retro and contemporary design cues, with a focus on comfort and functionality.
In addition to the production version, Renault also showcased the FL4WER POWER concept, a rugged and adventurous interpretation of the R4 E-Tech. This concept features a lifted suspension, off-road-inspired styling, and a unique interior design.
The Renault R4 E-Tech is expected to arrive in the UK market in mid-2025, offering a compelling alternative to other electric subcompact SUVs available in the segment.
