The prestigious Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) awards have returned to recognize the pinnacle of automotive excellence across various segments. These highly anticipated accolades celebrate exceptional performance in three key categories: Overall Indian Car of the Year, Green Car of the Year, and Premium Car of the Year. For the 2025 edition, the MG Windsor EV emerged as the triumphant winner in the Green Car of the Year category, securing a commendable score of 157 points. The BMW i5 and BYD Seal closely followed, claiming the first and second runner-up positions with 99 and 87 points respectively.

The Green Car category witnessed intense competition this year, with eight compelling contenders vying for the top spot. The electric vehicle segment is rapidly gaining traction, and this year’s finalists, including the Tata Punch EV and Mini Countryman EV, showcased the impressive advancements in electric mobility. A rigorous evaluation process assessed each contender across a diverse range of criteria, encompassing technical innovation, value for money, pricing, design aesthetics, passenger comfort, safety features, performance capabilities, practicality, and suitability for Indian road conditions. Notably, the Mahindra Thar Roxx was crowned the Overall Indian Car of the Year, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class secured the prestigious Premium Car of the Year title.
