Lucid Unveils Teaser of Midsize Electric SUV

Lucid New Midsize EV

Lucid, the innovative electric vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled a tantalizing teaser image of its upcoming midsize crossover. This new model, which is set to slot beneath the Gravity, promises to be a formidable competitor in the growing electric SUV market.

A Curvaceous Electric Crossover

While details are scarce at this point, the teaser image reveals a curvaceous and muscular design for Lucid’s midsize crossover. The flowing roofline, sculpted hood, and rounded wheel arches suggest a vehicle that is both stylish and aerodynamic.

A New Platform for the Future

The crossover will be built on a new midsize platform that is scheduled to go into production in late 2026. Lucid has stated that vehicles based on this architecture will be priced under $50,000, making them more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

Rivian R2 Competitor

Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson has hinted that one of the midsize models could rival the Rivian R2. This suggests that the company is aiming to offer a compelling alternative to the popular electric SUV from Rivian.

Production in Saudi Arabia

Production of the midsize models will take place at Lucid’s AMP-2 facility in Saudi Arabia. This strategic move will help to expand Lucid’s global footprint and tap into the growing electric vehicle market in the Middle East.

Next-Generation Atlas Drive Unit

In addition to the midsize crossover, Lucid also announced plans for its next-generation Atlas drive unit. This innovative technology will power the company’s midsize vehicles and is expected to offer enhanced value for both Lucid and its customers.

Efficiency and Cost Savings

The Atlas drive unit is said to be more efficient and miniaturized than previous generations. This will allow Lucid to use smaller battery packs, potentially reducing costs and improving range. The company’s proprietary software stack will also enable advanced features such as torque vectoring, traction control, and battery management.

NACS Port for Gravity

Lucid has also revealed that the Gravity will be equipped with a NACS port in 2025. This will allow Gravity owners to access Tesla’s Supercharger network without the need for an adapter, providing greater convenience and flexibility.

Lucid’s midsize crossover is shaping up to be a promising addition to the electric vehicle market. With its stylish design, innovative technology, and competitive pricing, it has the potential to attract a wide range of customers. As Lucid continues to expand its product lineup and enhance its technology, the company is well-positioned to become a major player in the electric vehicle industry.
