Porsche India has announced the price range of the new 911. The new 911 has a starting price of INR 19,899,000 (ex-showroom), while the prices of the 911 Carrera 4 GTS start at INR 27,542,000 (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the 911 Carrera are expected to begin later this year. The hybrid powertrain is available on the more performance-oriented GTS, while the Carrera comes with a more powerful 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer engine. Other changes include an updated design with better aerodynamics, a new interior with upgraded features, and more connectivity.
The GTS hybrid takes inspiration from motorsport. There is a new electric turbocharger with an electric motor that develops 15 horsepower. Also new is the 3.6-litre boxer engine producing 57 kW (485 hp) and 570 Nm of torque, while total output is 398 kW (541 hp) and 610 Nm. This is an increase of 61 hp with a weight increase of 51 kg.
An 8-speed PDK is offered as a transmission. As already mentioned, the 911 Carrera continues to be equipped with the 3.0-litre biturbo boxer engine, which produces 290 kW (394 hp) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The suspension is also new and rear-axle steering is now offered, while the GTS benefits from a sports suspension. The new 911 also receives model-specific bumper designs: the GTS features five vertically arranged active cooling air flaps and a sports exhaust. In addition, the 911 now offers HD matrix LEDs, while the controls have been moved to the steering wheel, as well as a fully digital display.
The 911 now also features a push-button start. The new 911 benefits from minor updates, but the crucial element is the hybrid drive.
