The All-New Maruti Swift Makes Its Debut in India

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The wait is finally over! Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automaker, has unveiled the much-anticipated fourth generation of the Swift hatchback. Renowned for its sporty design, fuel efficiency, and affordability, the Swift continues to be a top choice for Indian car buyers. Let’s dive into the details of the new iteration.

Fresh Look Inside and Out

While retaining the essence of the previous model, the 2024 Swift boasts a contemporary aesthetic. The sharpened headlights with integrated LED DRLs, a redesigned grille, and restyled bumpers create a more aggressive stance. The updated taillights and sleek dual-tone alloy wheels add a touch of sophistication. The interiors see a significant upgrade with a larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system taking center stage. The redesigned dashboard layout featuring a revised instrument cluster and climate control panel enhances the cabin’s overall feel.

New Engine Option and Improved Features

Maruti ditches the old engine for a new 1.2-liter Z series petrol unit churning out 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a convenient 5-speed AMT gearbox. Maruti is also expected to introduce a CNG variant in the near future.

Feature-wise, the new Swift is loaded with goodies. A larger touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech keeps you entertained and informed. Cruise control ensures relaxed highway cruising, while wireless phone charging adds a touch of convenience. Safety remains a priority with six airbags, electronic stability control, and a rear parking camera offered as standard.

Variant-wise Pricing and Availability

The 2024 Maruti Swift comes in five variants: LXi, VXi, VXi (O) – a new mid-spec trim, ZXi, and the top-of-the-line ZXi+. Prices start from an attractive Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base LXi variant and go up to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the feature-rich ZXi+ with an AMT gearbox. The top-spec variant also gets an optional dual-tone paint job for an additional Rs 15,000.

Maruti Swift: A Hatchback Legacy Continues

The new Maruti Swift promises to build upon the legacy of its predecessors. With its refreshed design, improved features, and a new engine option, the Swift remains a compelling choice in the hatchback segment. Whether you’re a young professional seeking a stylish and practical city car or a family looking for a feature-packed and fuel-efficient hatchback, the 2024 Maruti Swift is definitely worth considering.
