Porsche’s Final 911 Dakar: A Tribute to Rally Heritage

Porsche 911

Porsche has concluded the production of the 911 Dakar, a limited-edition off-road sports car that pays homage to the iconic 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally winner. To mark this occasion, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch division has created a unique final edition, a fitting tribute to the model’s heritage.

This special 911 Dakar is adorned in a striking two-tone paint scheme inspired by the legendary Rothmans-sponsored rally car. The upper half of the body is painted in Signal Yellow, while the lower half is finished in Gentian Blue Metallic. The two colors are separated by a bold blue pinstripe, adding a touch of visual drama. The wheels are also painted in Signal Yellow with Lampedeusablue accents, further enhancing the car’s distinctive appearance.

The interior of the car is equally impressive, featuring a combination of black leather and Alcantara. The cabin is accented with Speed Yellow contrast stitching and various rose gold elements, including the steering wheel, door panels, transmission tunnel, and dashboard. Additionally, the LED entrance lights project the Sonderwunsch logo onto the ground, adding a touch of exclusivity.

While Porsche hasn’t disclosed the specific cost of this one-of-a-kind 911 Dakar, it’s undoubtedly a significant premium over the standard model’s $220,000 price tag. This final edition will be displayed at the Porsche Museum before being handed over to its lucky owner.

The 911 Dakar, limited to 2,500 units, is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that delivers 473 horsepower. The engine is paired with an eight-speed PDK transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, enabling the car to tackle both on-road and off-road challenges with ease.
