BMW is set to expand its adventure motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the F 450 GS, expected to arrive in mid-2025. Currently under development, the middleweight adventure tourer recently made its debut as a concept at the EICMA motorcycle show. The F 450 GS is designed to comply with the upcoming, stricter emission norms that will take effect in mid-2025.
The F 450 GS draws inspiration from BMW’s larger GS models, such as the R 1300 GS. Its distinctive design elements include an angular front beak, sleek radiator shrouds, a large fuel tank, and a tapered side and tail section, instantly recognizable as a BMW GS.
Powering the F 450 GS is a brand-new parallel-twin engine that delivers 48 horsepower. BMW claims that the engine’s unique ignition offset allows for a high revving character and a distinctive sound.
The concept model features a fully adjustable USD front fork and a monoshock rear suspension with load-dependent damping. The bike weighs 175 kilograms and will be available with either alloy wheels (19-inch front, 17-inch rear) or tubeless wire-spoke wheels.
Braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear.
