Land Rover has introduced a new limited edition of its iconic Defender SUV, inspired by the Mediterranean island of Ibiza. The Defender Eivissa is available in two configurations: Sunrise and Noontide. Only six units of each configuration will be produced, making them highly exclusive and sought-after.
The Defender Eivissa Sunrise features a vibrant yellow shade with gloss black accents, reflecting the “magical yellow of sunrise” that can be seen on the island after a lively night. The Defender Eivissa Noontide, on the other hand, is painted in a light blue shade with white accents, reminiscent of the blue sky and Mediterranean sea contrasting with the white houses of Ibiza.
While Land Rover hasn’t disclosed specific details about the engine and trim levels of the Eivissa Limited Editions, their equipment appears to be substantial. The SUVs feature unique Eivissa emblems and a distinctive color scheme.
The Defender Eivissa was created as a tribute to Ibiza’s rich history and cultural significance. The number six, which is associated with the island’s original name “Iboshim,” holds special meaning in ancient history. It is linked to the goddess Bess, who was associated with protection, fertility, and domestic well-being.
Land Rover is hosting the Destination Defender Ibiza event from September 13 to September 29. This event offers Land Rover enthusiasts the opportunity to experience the island’s beauty and culture while enjoying a variety of activities, including off-road drives, hiking, coasteering, yoga, wellness sessions, and culinary experiences.
At the event, Land Rover will be showcasing two examples of the Defender Eivissa Limited Edition alongside the V8-powered Defender OCTA. The Eivissa Limited Editions are a testament to Land Rover’s commitment to creating unique and exclusive vehicles that celebrate the spirit of adventure and exploration.
