Jaguar C-X75 Reborn: Callum Transforms Bond Car

Jaguar C-X75

The iconic Jaguar C-X75, a concept car from 2010, never made it to full production. However, four surviving examples from the 2015 James Bond film “Spectre” now reside in the hands of private collectors. Callum, a UK-based firm founded by the original C-X75 designer, has taken on the task of transforming a second movie car into a street-legal masterpiece.

This latest project, following the successful conversion of the first movie car, aims to refine the C-X75 even further. The team at Callum has spent over 1,000 hours meticulously working on the bodywork, reducing panel gaps and repainting the car in a stunning Willow Green. The exterior now boasts brushed aluminum window surrounds, a polished metal grille, a bespoke filler cap, carbon fiber accents, and enhanced taillights with a C-X75 emblem etched on the tailpipe.

Beyond aesthetics, Callum has also implemented a new active aerodynamics package to improve stability, handling, and braking performance. The iconic 20-inch and 21-inch alloy wheels from the prototype remain unchanged.

The interior of the movie car has been completely overhauled, transforming it into a luxurious and modern space. The dashboard, center console, switchgear, steering wheel, and bucket seats have all been redesigned. The seats are upholstered in high-quality Bridge of Weir leather, combining dark green and cream tones. The cabin now features advanced technology, including wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, a premium sound system, and a digital rearview mirror. Crucially, Callum has added air conditioning and significantly improved noise, vibration, and harshness levels.

Under the hood, the C-X75 retains its supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, now paired with a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The powertrain has been reprogrammed to enhance everyday drivability while offering a dynamic sport mode for spirited driving. The suspension has also been fine-tuned, and a hydraulic front lift system has been added to protect the car’s underbody.

While the exact cost of the upgrades for this second C-X75 remains undisclosed, it’s clear that these bespoke modifications come at a premium. It will be interesting to see if the owners of the remaining two movie cars will follow suit and commission Callum to transform their vehicles into street-legal masterpieces.
