TVS Motor Company is gearing up to introduce a new model on August 22, and it’s highly likely to be an updated version of the popular Jupiter scooter. The Hosur-based manufacturer has sent out invitations for a virtual launch event, which will be preceded by media rides for the refreshed Jupiter.
The Jupiter has been a consistent top-seller for TVS in India, and the upcoming facelift aims to further strengthen its position in the market. While the current model is available in both 110cc and 125cc variants, the upcoming update is expected to focus on the 110cc version.
Expected Updates
The 2024 TVS Jupiter is set to receive a significant overhaul, with notable changes in design and features.
- Design: The most prominent update is likely to be a new front fascia featuring a sleek LED DRL positioned above the main headlamp. This will give the scooter a modern and distinctive look. Additionally, the scooter can expect redesigned panels, a different tail section, and an all-LED lighting setup in the top-spec variant.
- Features: The updated Jupiter is expected to come with a fully-digital instrument cluster that may incorporate Bluetooth connectivity and other features via the TVS SmartXonnect application. Other potential features include turn-by-turn navigation, a USB charging port, and a boot light.
- Powertrain: The 110cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with Ecothrust Fuel injection (ET-Fi) technology is likely to remain unchanged, producing 7.4 bhp and 8.4 Nm of torque.
- Suspension and Brakes: The suspension setup will likely continue to include telescopic front forks and a coil spring with hydraulic damper at the rear. The 2024 Jupiter is expected to come with a front disc and rear drum brakes as standard, with the possibility of single-channel ABS as an additional safety feature.
Launch and Pricing
The virtual launch event is scheduled for August 22, and more details about the pricing and availability of the updated TVS Jupiter will be announced at that time.
