Honda CB350, CB300R and CB300F

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a recall for several of its popular motorcycle models in the Indian market. The recall affects the Honda Highness CB350, CB300R, CB350, and CB300F models manufactured between October 2020 and April 2024.

Wheel Speed Sensor Issue:

The primary concern is a potential issue with the wheel speed sensor on these motorcycles. Due to an improper molding process, water could seep into the sensor, leading to erroneous readings on the speedometer. This could also impact the functionality of the traction control and ABS systems, potentially compromising braking performance.

Camshaft Defect in Certain Models:

Additionally, some units of the CB350, Highness CB350, and CB350RS manufactured between June and July 2024 have been recalled due to potential camshaft defects. This issue could result in performance degradation. While no accidents have been reported related to this defect, it is being addressed as a precautionary measure.

Free Component Replacement:

Honda has assured customers that the replacement of affected components will be carried out at authorized BigWing dealerships across India, free of charge, regardless of the bike’s warranty status. Although the exact number of recalled units has not been disclosed, the Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350RS, which have been successful in the market, are likely to account for a significant portion.

Customer Action:

Owners of affected motorcycles are advised to visit their nearest Honda service center for a free inspection and replacement of any faulty parts. Honda has emphasized the importance of addressing these issues to ensure the safety and reliability of its products.

This recall demonstrates Honda’s commitment to customer safety and quality control. By proactively addressing potential issues, the company aims to maintain its reputation as a reliable and trustworthy brand in the Indian motorcycle market.
