Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has expanded its flex-fuel offerings with the launch of the new CB300F flex-fuel motorcycle. This model, priced at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), joins a growing number of flex-fuel bikes available in India.
One of the key features of the CB300F flex-fuel is its ability to run on E85 fuel, which contains 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. This higher ethanol blend can help reduce crude oil import costs and contribute to a cleaner environment.
Powered by a 293 cc, single-cylinder engine, the CB300F flex-fuel delivers 24.5 bhp and 25.9 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch and traction control system ensures smooth and efficient performance.
The motorcycle also features an ethanol indicator to inform the rider about the fuel being used. In terms of design, the CB300F retains its sporty streetfighter aesthetics, with the only notable addition being an ethanol graphic on the fuel tank. The underpinnings, including the USD fork, monoshock suspension, and dual-channel ABS, remain unchanged.
Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality. The introduction of the CB300F flex-fuel aligns with Honda’s global efforts to reduce emissions and support India’s energy needs.
While the CB300F has not been a major sales success for Honda, the company is hoping that the flex-fuel variant will help revive interest in the model. The growing trend of flex-fuel vehicles in India is driven by their potential to reduce financial burden and emissions. Several other two-wheeler brands are expected to showcase their flex-fuel models at the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
