Honda has confirmed the production of its highly anticipated CB1000 Hornet, following the recent leak of its type approval documents. The sporty naked bike is expected to make its debut at the EICMA motorcycle show later this year.
The CB1000 Hornet boasts a sleek and youthful design, featuring a sharp front end and a chiseled fuel tank. While its headlight bears a resemblance to the Ducati Streetfighter, it offers a distinctive and appealing look.
Powering the CB1000 Hornet is a 999cc inline-four-cylinder engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a six-speed gearbox. A more powerful SP variant may also be offered, providing slightly higher performance.
In terms of suspension and braking, the CB1000 Hornet will feature upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, dual front disc brakes, and a single rear disc brake. The bike is also expected to come equipped with a TFT screen for smartphone connectivity, multiple ride modes, traction control levels, ABS modes, and other advanced features.
While the CB1000 Hornet’s design patent has been filed in India, the chances of it being launched in the Indian market are slim. However, it remains to be seen if Honda will reconsider its plans based on customer demand.
