Hero MotoCorp is set to launch a refreshed version of its popular scooter, the Destini 125. The company has sent out invitations for a first ride event scheduled to take place between September 6-7, 2024. This indicates that the official launch of the updated Destini 125 is imminent.
Design Enhancements
The 2024 Destini 125 will feature a more modern and boxy design compared to its predecessor. The scooter will boast a sleeker tail section, a triangular headlight, apron-mounted indicators, and a completely redesigned front apron with sharper design lines. Other notable additions include a new external fuel filler cap, cubby hole, chunky grab rail, and a pillion backrest. Additionally, the updated model is expected to feature all-LED lighting and a redesigned exhaust.
Technical Specifications
While the exact technical specifications are yet to be confirmed, the 2024 Destini 125 is likely to retain the same powertrain as the current model. This means it will be powered by a 124.6cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 9.12 PS and 10.4 Nm of torque. The suspension setup is expected to consist of a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The scooter will also feature a front disc brake for the first time, while the rear braking will likely be handled by a 130mm drum brake.
Pricing and Competition
The 2024 Hero Destini 125 is expected to command a premium over the current model, with a price tag estimated to be around Rs 5,000 higher than the existing Rs 86,538 (ex-showroom New Delhi). Once launched, the updated Destini 125 will compete with other popular 125cc scooters in the Indian market, including the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and Fascino 125.
