Royal Enfield, the iconic Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer, has set the stage ablaze with the launch of the next-generation Himalayan 450 in the domestic market. Unveiled at the 2023 EICMA show and showcased at the MotorVerse 2023, formerly known as Rider Mania, the new Himalayan 450 marks a significant leap forward for the brand, replacing the stalwart Himalayan 411 that has served riders faithfully for over seven years.
Key Features and Design
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a radical departure from its predecessor, boasting a 450 cc liquid-cooled engine, a first for the manufacturer. The new model is longer, wider, and features an extended wheelbase, offering improved stability and control. Available in two seating options, this dual-purpose adventure tourer stands out with a 17-liter fuel tank, a 2-liter increase from the previous model.

Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Himalayan 450 is powered by a new 451.65 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC fuel-injected four-valve engine, delivering a robust 40.02 PS of power and 40 Nm of peak torque – the torquiest single produced in India. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission, with a standard slipper and assist clutch for smooth gear shifts. This powertrain ensures that the Himalayan 450 is not only capable off-road but also provides a comfortable touring experience.
