Rieju has made a significant splash at EICMA 2024 with the introduction of two new mid-displacement adventure motorcycles: the Xplora 557 and 707. These bikes draw inspiration from the MV Agusta LXP Orioli project, sharing similar design cues such as the full LED headlight, sleek fairings, and compact tail section.
Shared Design and Features
Both the Xplora 557 and 707 share a striking design language, featuring a full LED headlight, streamlined fairings, and a sleek tail section. The 17-inch spoked wheels on the 557 and the 19-inch front wheel on the 707 contribute to their off-road prowess. Both models offer a comfortable seat height of 795 mm and a manageable dry weight, with the 557 weighing 218 kg and the 707 tipping the scales at 221 kg.
The chassis setup is identical for both bikes, incorporating a 43 mm inverted Kayaba fork and a progressively adjustable Kayaba monoshock. The steel multi-tubular frame provides a strong foundation, while the Brembo braking system, with dual 320 mm front discs and a 260 mm rear disc, ensures powerful and reliable stopping power. Both models come equipped with switchable ABS and a 7-inch color TFT display with Mirror Link technology.
Engine Differences
The primary difference between the two models lies in their engines. The Xplora 557 is powered by a 554 cc QJ twin-cylinder engine that delivers 47.6 HP and 51 Nm of torque, making it suitable for A2 license holders. The Xplora 707, on the other hand, is equipped with a Benelli twin-cylinder engine that produces 70 HP and 70 Nm of torque, offering more power and performance.
Availability
The Rieju Xplora 557 and 707 are expected to be available from early 2025. These new models represent a significant step forward for Rieju, offering a compelling blend of style, performance, and off-road capability.
